Topic: Are you Pro GMOs or Con GMOs?

Please post your opinion and the "why" to support it.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS-Grade 12
Learning subject: the food we eat.

Questions to think about:
  • what's in your food?
  • where does your food come from?
  • who produces your food?
  • what affect does the food you eat have on your body?
Have you ever heard of GMOs?
GMOs are genetically modified organisms.
Some of our food has been altered, it's DNA changed. This is sometimes done to make the food, such as a plant, more hardy, enabling it to better survive under less than perfect conditions.
Some farmers and food companies do this because it can lead to a large crop, or yield, thus equalling to more profit.
GMO is a new innovative technology in agriculture, however, just like all new things, not everything is known about the it's effects.

More Research:
Check out these websites that provide more information about GMOs and their consequences.

Please read this page about GMOs and take a few notes for understanding.
